2022 Lexus ES 350 Air Filter in Hingham, MA

The engine air filter sits in a sealed airbox inside the engine bay, ahead of the intake ducting.

On the 2022 Lexus ES 350, the airbox is easy to spot when you open the hood; it houses the filter that protects the 3.5L V6 intake from debris. Access typically involves unclipping or unscrewing the airbox lid. If you prefer professional service in Hingham, our team can replace it quickly using Lexus-spec parts.

• Located in a sealed engine-bay airbox
• Protects the 3.5L V6 intake path
• Quick access for inspection and replacement

The cabin air filter is positioned behind the glove box in most ES sedans.

This filter cleans the air entering the HVAC system for the passenger area of the 2022 Lexus ES 350. Access commonly requires lowering or removing the glove box to reach the filter tray. If you’d rather not remove interior trim, Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham can complete this service and verify proper HVAC airflow.

• Behind the glove box/HVAC access panel
• Improves in-cabin air quality
• Checked for fit and airflow after installation

The engine air filter protects the 3.5L V6 from intake debris, while the cabin air filter cleans air for passengers through the HVAC system.

On the 2022 Lexus ES 350, these filters serve two distinct systems. The engine filter helps preserve performance and efficiency by keeping dust out of the intake. The cabin filter removes particulates and odors to keep the interior comfortable. Both are inspected and replaced with Lexus-spec media at our Hingham service center.

• Engine filter: combustion air protection
• Cabin filter: passenger/HVAC air cleaning
• Different locations, different service intervals

Engine filter symptoms include reduced power, rough idle, and lower fuel economy; cabin filter symptoms include weak airflow and musty odors.

If your 2022 Lexus ES 350 feels sluggish or you notice increased intake noise, the engine filter may be restricted. Inside the cabin, fading HVAC airflow or persistent odors suggest the cabin filter is saturated. Our Hingham team can inspect both filters and related ducts to confirm the cause and restore performance and comfort.

• Engine: hesitation, poor MPG, uneven idle
• Cabin: diminished vent flow, odors, dust on surfaces
• Visual check often confirms contamination

Yes—engine air filter replacement is typically DIY-friendly, while the cabin filter may require glove box/trim removal.

Many owners of the 2022 Lexus ES 350 can open the airbox and swap the engine filter with basic tools. The cabin filter involves interior access and careful fitment to avoid HVAC noise or gaps. Dealer service includes OEM-spec media, intake/MAF checks, and proper disposal, which helps maintain performance and warranty alignment.

• Cabin filter: interior panel handling

For the 2022 Lexus ES 350, our team follows a clear process designed around Lexus standards. We begin with an under-hood inspection and remove the engine airbox cover to check the filter’s condition and sealing surfaces. If replacement is due, we install a Lexus-spec engine air filter, verify correct orientation, and resecure all fasteners. For the cabin side, we access the glove box area, remove the HVAC filter tray, and inspect for debris before installing a Lexus-spec cabin filter. We also perform an intake housing check and a visual MAF sensor inspection to help confirm stable airflow readings. When available, you can review current offers on our service specials page and then schedule service at a convenient time.

Your 2022 Lexus ES 350 uses two filters with distinct roles. The engine air filter protects the 3.5-liter V6 (V configuration, regular unleaded) from dust and debris that can affect performance. The cabin air filter helps maintain interior air quality by capturing particulates as air passes through the HVAC system. Lexus recommends using OEM-spec media and proper sealing to maintain designed airflow and filtration efficiency. If your vehicle shows signs of restriction—reduced power, rough idle, weak HVAC airflow, or persistent odors—an inspection is appropriate.
