2022 Lexus LC 500h Air Filter in Hingham, MA

The 2022 Lexus LC 500h engine air filter sits in a sealed airbox in the engine bay, forward of the V6 intake tract.

This airbox location allows the filter to clean incoming air before it reaches the hybrid’s 3.5-liter V6 intake. In most LC 500h vehicles, the airbox is accessible with basic hand clips or screws. If you’re servicing in Hingham, our team can confirm placement and inspect the intake ducting during the same visit.

• Engine bay airbox ahead of the intake manifold
• Access via clips or simple fasteners
• Placement designed for efficient, cool air pickup

The engine air filter cleans combustion air for the V6, while the cabin air filter cleans HVAC air for passengers.

On a 2022 Lexus LC 500h, the engine air filter protects performance and fuel efficiency by removing dust before air reaches the intake. The cabin air filter traps pollen and fine particles before air enters the interior vents. Replacing both as needed keeps the hybrid powertrain responsive and the cockpit air fresh on Massachusetts roads.

• Engine filter: protects intake and MAF sensor
• Cabin filter: improves HVAC airflow and air quality
• Two separate components with different jobs

Common signs include reduced power, lower fuel economy, rough idle (engine), and weak HVAC airflow or musty odors (cabin).

In the LC 500h, a restricted engine filter can make acceleration feel dull and may increase intake noise. A saturated cabin filter often shows up as foggy windows, fan noise, or stale smells. If you notice these symptoms while driving around Hingham or along the South Shore, its time to have both filters inspected.

• Engine: sluggish response and decreased MPG
• Cabin: reduced airflow and odors through vents
• Visible dirt or darkening on the filter media

The engine filter is typically DIY-friendly, while the cabin filter may require trim or glovebox access thats easier with dealer tools.

Many LC 500h owners can pop the engine airbox clips and swap the filter carefully. The cabin filter is more finicky and benefits from correct panel removal and re-seating to prevent rattles or airflow leaks. Dealer service in Hingham also includes an intake/MAF visual check and proper disposal.

• DIY possible for engine filter with care
• Cabin filter access can involve interior panels
• Dealer adds OEM-spec fitment and system inspection

The 2022 Lexus LC 500h uses two filters: an engine air filter that protects the 3.5-liter V6 intake system and a cabin air filter that cleans HVAC airflow for passengers. Lexus specifies genuine parts to ensure correct filtration efficiency, flow, and sealing. Follow the maintenance guidance in your owners manual and inspect more frequently if you drive in dusty construction areas, coastal salt air, or heavy pollen seasons common in Massachusetts. During service, our team also checks intake housing integrity and looks for debris that can affect the mass airflow sensor.
