2022 Lexus LX 600 Air Filter in Hingham, MA

The 2022 Lexus LX 600 engine air filter sits inside the sealed air box in the engine bay, upstream of the intake tube.

This V6 twin-turbo setup draws air through the air box before it reaches the turbos, helping protect the 3.5L engine (engine code 6VTTG3.5). Access typically involves releasing clips and lifting the housing cover. If you’d like a quick confirmation of location and fit, our team in Hingham can show you during an appointment.

• Air box is located within the front engine bay
• Filter protects the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 intake path
• Housing clips or screws secure the cover

The 2022 Lexus LX 600 cabin air filter is typically located behind the glove box in the HVAC intake path.

Most Lexus SUVs place the cabin filter in a tray or door accessed by lowering or removing the glove box. This filter cleans air entering the passenger compartment, capturing dust and pollen common in Massachusetts. Our advisors can verify access steps for your LX 600 at check-in.

• Filter door or tray behind the glove box
• Screens HVAC intake air for the cabin
• Usually a tool-light access procedure

The engine air filter protects the 3.5L twin-turbo V6’s intake, while the cabin air filter cleans the air you breathe inside the LX 600.

Under-hood filtration prevents dust and debris from entering the turbos and intake tract, supporting power and efficiency. Inside, the cabin element screens HVAC air for occupants, improving comfort during New England pollen seasons. Both filters are important, but they serve different systems.

• Engine filter = combustion air; upstream of intake
• Cabin filter = passenger air; in HVAC path
• Different materials and service intervals

Common signs include reduced power, rougher idle, or lower fuel economy for the engine filter, and weak airflow or musty odors for the cabin filter.

On the 409-hp LX 600, a restricted engine filter can blunt throttle response and raise intake restriction felt by the turbos. Inside the cabin, a dirty filter may cut fan output and aggravate odors. If you notice these in Hingham-area driving, book a quick check.

• Engine: sluggish acceleration, worse MPG
• Cabin: reduced HVAC flow, odor, excess dust
• Visual: dark, debris-laden filter media

Yes, many owners can DIY the engine filter, while dealer service ensures OEM fit, correct sealing, and an intake/MAF inspection.

The LX 600’s air box is generally accessible, but correct seating and sealing matter for a twin‑turbo intake. Cabin filters may require trim handling behind the glove box. Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham also disposes of the old filter and checks related components.

Yes—a clean filter restores normal airflow to the 3.5L twin‑turbo V6, helping maintain expected power and fuel economy.

Restricted intake can force the LX 600’s turbos to work harder and may reduce efficiency. Fresh filtration supports proper mass airflow sensor readings and smooth throttle response. If your driving includes dusty roads or pollen-heavy seasons in Massachusetts, inspect more frequently.

• Restores designed intake airflow
• Supports accurate MAF sensor readings
• Helps preserve throttle response

Our process focuses on fit, sealing, and system checks for your 2022 Lexus LX 600. We start by confirming the correct Lexus Genuine engine air filter and inspecting the intake housing for debris or damage. The engine filter is replaced if dirty or out of spec, and the housing is reassembled with attention to proper seating. Next, we access the cabin filter behind the glove box, inspect for dust loading or odor, and replace it when needed. A visual check of the intake tract and mass airflow (MAF) sensor area is included, along with proper disposal of used filters. If you’re planning a visit, you can review current service specials and then schedule service online.
