2022 Lexus NX 350h Air Filter in Hingham, MA

The 2022 Lexus NX 350h engine air filter sits inside a sealed airbox in the engine bay on the intake side.

This airbox draws outside air through the filter before it reaches the intake tract of the 2.5L inline-4 hybrid powertrain. In most cases, the airbox is accessible after opening the hood and releasing a few clips or fasteners. If you’re unsure, our team in Hingham can confirm access and check the housing seal to prevent unmetered air.

• Located in engine bay within a plastic airbox
• Protects the 2.5L inline-4 intake from dust and debris
• Access typically via clips or screws on the airbox lid

The 2022 Lexus NX 350h cabin air filter is typically located behind the glove box within the HVAC intake area.

Most NX models place the cabin filter in a slot accessed by lowering or removing the glove box. This filter scrubs pollen, dust, and road particulates before they enter the passenger compartment. If clips or side dampers are involved, take care not to break trim—our Hingham service team can perform the swap quickly and verify airflow.

• Access point: behind or above the glove box
• Filters air entering the HVAC system for passengers
• Trim clips may need careful removal to avoid damage

The engine air filter protects the 2.5L engines intake, while the cabin air filter cleans air for passengers through the HVAC system.

In a 2022 Lexus NX 350h, the engine air filter sits in the engine bay airbox to keep combustion air free of grit that can wear components. The cabin air filter is mounted near the glove box to reduce dust and odors inside the SUV. Both matter: one preserves performance and efficiency, the other preserves comfort and health.

• Engine filter = intake protection for combustion
• Cabin filter = HVAC filtration for occupants
• Different locations, different service intervals

Common signs include reduced power, lower fuel economy, rough or hesitant acceleration, weak HVAC airflow, and musty cabin odors.

On the 2022 Lexus NX 350h, a restricted engine air filter can limit intake airflow and affect throttle response. A dirty cabin filter reduces blower output and can trap moisture, causing odors. If you notice these symptoms around Hingham or nearby Massachusetts roads, we can inspect both filters and the intake housing for debris or leaks.

• Engine: sluggish performance or higher fuel use
• Cabin: low airflow from vents or persistent odors
• Visual: dark, debris-laden filter media

The engine filter is generally DIY-friendly, while the cabin filter may require trim removal that many owners prefer a dealer to handle.

For the 2022 Lexus NX 350h, the engine air filter is usually accessible via airbox clips. The cabin filter sits behind the glove box and can involve tight clearances. Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham adds value by inspecting the intake housing, checking for debris, and fitting Lexus Genuine Parts to maintain OEM specifications.

• DIY: engine air filter via airbox clips
• Dealer: careful trim handling for cabin filter
• Added checks: housing seal and debris inspection
