2022 Lexus RX 350L Air Filter in Hingham, MA

The 2022 Lexus RX 350L engine air filter sits in a rectangular air box within the engine bay on the intake side.

On the RX 350L’s 3.5L V6 (engine code 6VNAG3.5), the air box is secured with clips or screws and feeds the intake tube ahead of the mass airflow sensor. Access typically involves opening the air box lid and lifting the old filter straight out. If you prefer professional service in Hingham, our team can inspect the housing seals and intake snorkel during replacement.

• Located in the engine bay, inside the main intake air box
• Serves the 3.5L V6 intake before the MAF sensor
• Access usually requires unclipping or unscrewing the air box lid

The 2022 Lexus RX 350L cabin air filter is positioned behind the glove box in the HVAC intake path.

This filter helps clean air entering the passenger compartment, trapping dust and pollen common around Hingham and nearby Massachusetts communities. Access generally requires lowering or removing the glove box to reveal the filter tray. If you’d like help, Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham can replace it and verify correct airflow direction.

• Mounted behind the glove box in the dash area
• Filters HVAC air for passengers
• Tray access typically after glove box removal/lowering

The engine air filter protects the 3.5L V6 intake, while the cabin air filter cleans the air you breathe inside the RX 350L.

The engine filter sits in the air box and safeguards combustion and sensors from debris. The cabin filter sits behind the glove box and reduces dust, pollen, and odors in the HVAC stream. Replacing both as needed helps maintain performance, efficiency, and comfort as you drive around Hingham, Quincy, and Weymouth.

• Engine filter = intake protection for performance and sensors
• Cabin filter = HVAC air quality for passengers
• Both are serviceable and use Lexus Genuine Parts

Common signs include reduced power, rougher idle, and lower fuel economy for the engine filter, plus weak airflow or musty odors for the cabin filter.

On the RX 350L’s V6, a dirty engine filter can restrict intake and affect throttle response. A clogged cabin filter can limit blower output and allow odors to linger in the HVAC system. If you notice these symptoms around Hingham or on your commute through Braintree and Norwell, schedule a quick inspection.

• Engine: hesitation, sluggish acceleration, poorer MPG
• Cabin: diminished airflow, dustier vents, musty smell
• Visual check: dark, debris-laden filter media

You can DIY the engine filter and often the cabin filter, but the dealer adds OEM-spec parts verification and intake/MAF checks.

The RX 350L’s engine filter is typically straightforward with basic tools. The cabin filter may require careful glove box removal and attention to airflow direction. Choosing our Hingham team ensures Lexus Genuine Parts and a quick inspection of seals, ducts, and sensors for reliable results.

• DIY-friendly engine filter; cabin can involve trim removal
• Dealer service verifies fit, orientation, and sealing
• Convenient online schedule service

Check the cabin air filter first, since weak interior airflow points to HVAC restriction.

If your blower is on but vents feel weak or musty, the cabin filter behind the glove box is the likely cause. If the issue is hesitation or reduced power while driving around Hingham, inspect the engine air filter in the air box. Our team can evaluate both in a single visit.

• Cabin filter = first check for weak vents
• Engine filter = first check for sluggish acceleration
• Schedule quick diagnostics online

Your 2022 Lexus RX 350L benefits from a careful, repeatable process that preserves performance and cabin comfort. Our technicians begin with an engine air filter inspection, checking the air box, intake snorkel, and gasket surfaces before installing a Lexus Genuine filter. Next, we inspect and replace the cabin air filter behind the glove box, ensuring the airflow arrow is correctly oriented and that the tray seats properly for a tight seal. A visual check of the mass airflow sensor housing follows, confirming that wiring and connectors are intact and that there are no signs of debris bypass.

We finish with a quick fit-and-finish review: latches secured, screws torqued, and ducts reconnected. Using OEM-spec filters supports proper filtration and reduces the chance of whistling or leaks. Parts are covered under Lexus Genuine Parts terms, and you can review current service specials any time. Ready to book? Use our online portal to schedule service for your RX 350L.

The 2022 Lexus RX 350L pairs a 3.5-liter V6 (engine code 6VNAG3.5) with an intake system designed for quiet operation and consistent airflow. The engine air filter resides in a sealed air box and should be replaced with a Lexus Genuine (OEM-spec) filter to maintain correct fit, media density, and sealing. The cabin air filter, located behind the glove box, uses a rectangular cartridge designed to trap dust and pollen that accumulate through Massachusetts seasons. Following Lexus guidance helps preserve throttle response, fuel efficiency, and HVAC performance.

Because local roads can carry sand, pollen, and leaf debris, filters may load more quickly during peak seasons. Inspecting both filters during regular service visits is a simple way to keep your RX 350L feeling responsive and your cabin air fresh. Bring your 2022 Lexus RX 350L to Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham in Hingham for OEM-spec filter service — schedule service.
